Dr. Steuer was the first surgeon in Atlanta to use a computerized tomography (CT scan) for lumbar surgery. He has remained on the cutting edge of many inspiring technological advancements throughout his career. Also, he is the first surgeon in Georgia to employ stereotactic navigation in spine surgery.

He obtained his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During medical school, he focused on surgical training at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), located in Houston, Texas.

After graduation, he finished an internship and neurosurgery residency at BCM, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Methodist Hospital, before returning to Georgia, where he joined Polaris Spine & Neurosurgery Center (formerly Peachtree Neurosurgery) and Max Steuer, MD.

Keeping current with the latest advances in neurosurgical techniques, Dr. Steuer has introduced numerous surgical technologies to the Atlanta medical community, such as intraoperative CT scanning for spine surgery.

Dr. Steuer is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) and has served as chief of surgery at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, located in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

He believes lifelong activity is the key to maintaining spinal wellness and overall health. He gets people back to doing what they love by providing premium care. He is highly skilled in spinal fusion, microdiscectomy, artificial disc replacement, and more.

During his free time, he appreciates spending time with his wife and three beautiful children, taking annual canoe trips to Canada, and golfing. He grew up in Athens, Georgia.
